One of the things that surprised me most when I arrived in Southern India was the genuine enthusiasm people had about getting photographed. At first, I'd try to cowardly sneak a shot while they weren't looking. I'd always get caught and turn bright red. They'd always answer with the brightest smiles.
I soon learnt.
